|
What exactly is interactive video? |
Interactive video is an integrated system of video, sound, text, graphics and software.
|
| What makes the concept successful? |
Interactive video can bring across more information. The level of concentration during linear video (watching and listening) decreases after 6 minutes. Interactive video training is a form of active learning. Furthermore there are pauses, which makes it easier to carry on.
|
| What is active learning? |
Through a variation of observing, reading, listening and acting, the concentration level remains high, for more than 60 minutes of training.
In interactive video, trainees play an active role: solving problems, judging situations and answering multiple-choice questions. Possible mistakes made by the trainees are immediately corrected. As trainees are actively involved, they sooner take ownership of the information and knowledge.
|
| Why video? |
Video makes it possible to explain things faster than with texts. Besides, it's much more fun watching a video than reading a text. Use of video makes learning pleasant!
|
| Individual? |
Not anymore: interactive video is more often being used in group sessions.
Still interactive video is mainly used for individual training, because of the possibility to save on costs:
- interactive training does not influence production as operations can continue during the training
- immediate training (no teacher is needed)
- savings on supervision
There are also didactical arguments for individual interactive video training:
- study at your own pace
- adaptation to the style of learning of the trainee (auditive, visual, textual)
- immediate feedback on answers and actions.
- each part of the training can be repeated
- self-testing
- determine own learning routes.
|
| Documentation? |
A fortune of data is being registered.
The registration system also offers extra tools.
Below some of the many possibilities:
- registration of who when and with what results have been trained
- possibility of comparing test results
- duration of the training
- detailed overview of test results
- possibility of making analysis
- possibility of creating specific training routes
- possibility of printing certificates with test result.
|
| For what purpose is interactive training mostly suitable? |
Interactive video is suitable for transferring knowledge about procedures, instructions, processes, safety and quality.
The pharmaceutical industry has been using the GMP courses for 13 years now: basic knowledge about Good Manufacturing Practice.
